The Stingrays went searching for a new baseball coach in 2010, and believe they found a good one. Jack Silagy is married, has five children, owns his own business, and has a background in youth baseball. But more importantly he loves the Lord, and it shows in his coaching. Winning is always a goal in athletics, otherwise why compete? But winning isn't the only thing, much less everything. Coach Silagy is working with his new charges in positive, Christ-centered ways to improve them as both players and young men. In non-conference play the Stingrays will face juggernaut Rolling Hills Prep twice early on, which will be a real test of character for such a young team. And although Shalhevet is the favorite to win the Mulholland League, the Stingrays will work hard to keep Pacific Lutheran's streak of CIF playoff invites going in 2010-11. Join us in the bleachers as we cheer on the Stingrays in another competitive season of high school baseball.
