English 2 continues in the skills instructed in English 1 in English, communication, and literature. In the successful completion of this course, students will be able to speak and write using standard American English, broaden his/her vocabulary, gain proficiency in public speaking, develop a thesis and use supporting evidence from research in writing, write and speak persuasively, broaden knowledge of literature from around the world, write in response to literature, and work cooperatively in small groups.
