
Course Summary:
The students in this class have reached differing levels of English fluency and each student will have his/her own strengths and weaknesses in the skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This course will improve each student’s English and expose him/her to American culture.

White Board Formula:
Each class period students will be given at least one educational objective (what skill is being taught during the class), an activity to reinforce this educational objective (what students will be engaged in to achieve the objective), and an assessment for the activity. Educational objectives are taken from California Content Standards or other standards appropriate for the course.
ELSR Integration:
Pacific Lutheran High School’s ESLR’s (Expected School-wide Learning Results), adopted curriculum, and the Visual Arts Content Standards are integrated into one cohesive unit to maximize student-learning. Art I course will thus:
