Theology 12

Theology 12 is a senior-level Theology course requiring students to become familiar with course units including: Christian doctrine, Comparative Religions, Church History, and Christian Apologetics. Students will be able to clearly articulate the differences between God's Law and God's Gospel throughout their study of these issues.

Doctrines studied throughout the year include Justification, Sanctification, the relationship between faith and good works, original sin, Baptism, the Lord's Supper and the rules for appropriate biblical interpretation.

Religions such as Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism are covered in Comparative Religions so students can adequately distinguish the fundamental differences which exist among other "major" faiths.

A study of Church history allows students to understand today's church did not begin in a vacuum, but has addressed many of the issues the present church is faced with today. Students are given a sense of the tradition and guide the ancient church has provided for Christians today.

Christian Apologetics provides students with the opportunity to receive training in the defense of the Christian faith and its related teachings. While several approaches are studied and considered, students are provided information and techniques that will enable them to give a historical and documentary defense of the faith.
